The Single Star is the perfect Photographer's or Researcher's platform. Our size and hull design enable us to travel the wild waters of Kodiak and Katmai safely yet we are small enough to be versatile and maneuver into small bays and passages where other less agile boats can go. Extended stays are no problem and moving to a new area is relatively easy. Rather than cramming everything into an airplane and having to sleep in a tent, once you are on the boat your "camp site" travels with you. We leave no trace; nothing is left behind to blemish the landscape or tarnish it for the next adventurer. Much of our shore travel is along beaches where the next tide will wash away our footprints.
